Rather than despair, Akira treats the apocalypse as a chance to finally live, drafting a bucket list of everything he always wanted to do. This complete 8-volume paperback set delivers Akira's full, chaotic, hilarious, and surprisingly heartfelt journey from Volume 1 through Volume 8, making it ideal for manga readers and zombie-genre fans. About the Book(s): Across these eight volumes, Akira's story unfolds through a mix of slapstick comedy, horror-tinged action, and real emotional growth. Volume 1 sets the tone as Akira, freed from his soul-crushing office job by the outbreak, decides to chase joy instead of fear. Volume 2 sees him team up with old friend Kencho, dodging the undead across Ikebukuro on absurd errands that show off the series' sharp comic timing. Volume 3 turns quieter and more reflective as Akira ticks off small everyday pleasures, while Volume 4 sends the group on a road trip filled with local food, hot springs, and unexpected danger. Volume 5 brings Akira home for a moving family reunion, adding emotional weight to the comedy. Tensions rise in Volume 6 as old classmates resurface, forcing Akira to face unfinished business, before Volume 7 ramps the energy back up with a chaotic trip north. Volume 8 closes the set with further travels and reflection, rounding off a run that balances gore, gags, and heart in equal measure. Throughout, Kotaro Takata's expressive artwork brings both horror and humour vividly to life, while Haro Aso's writing keeps pace brisk and stakes personal.
